Writing and Enjoying Poetry with Children
This is an interactive, one-hour workshop about sharing and writing poetry with children. It includes: how poetry helps children develop literacy; an overview of different kinds of poetry and poetic terms; how to include poetry in the classroom; how to help children understand and appreciate poetry; how to help children write and revise their own poetry; poetry-writing activities; ideas for publishing and sharing students’ poetry; and a bibliography of favorite poetry books for children.
